Sara completed her double-major B.S. in Chemistry and Forensic Chemistry at Lake Superior State University in May of 2008.  During her undergraduate studies, Sara worked with Dr. Judy Westrick (Chemistry) researching the toxicology of the cyanobacterial toxin microcystin while gaining experience with HPLC and ELISA assays.  She also prepared General Chemistry labs, and played 3 seasons of Division II softball.  Sara has chosen a career in toxicology after receiving a fellowship to attend the Society of Toxicology Conference last year.  This experience solidified her resolve to earn a Doctorate in Toxicology.
