Raman wins award at 35th annual colloquium

Priya Raman, a graduate student in the Pharmacology & Toxicology program was honored with the Best Oral Presentation Award at the 35th Annual Pharmacology Colloquium June 27, 2008. The title of her presentation was: A CYCLOOXYGENASE METABOLITE OF 2-ARACHIDONYL GLYCEROL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF INTERLEUKIN-2 [Priyadarshini Raman, Cheryl E. Rockwell, Barbara L.F. Kaplan and Norbert E. Kaminski ].
The "colloquium brings together students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty from the Pharmacology Departments at Michigan State University, Wayne State University, The University of Toledo, and The University of Michigan for a day-long scientific program. This colloquium primarily provides a forum for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows to present their research in both oral and poster presentations and provides an outstanding opportunity for all of the participants to exchange their idea," Dr. Paul F. Hollenberg (University of Michigan) said in the welcome note to colloquium participants.

The colloquium was founded by Dr. Theodore M. Brody of Michigan State University and Dr. Benedict R. Lucchesi of the University of Michigan.
